Outline

The project is divided into three research levels:


1.           Network and content analysis of the TV-Market for Historical Programs: we will analyze the European TV market for historicizing formats. The network analysis of distribution processes (format trade) will be connected with a systematic content analysis of TV history documentaries and feature films representative of the supply structure;  

2.           Media-Effect Analysis 1: experimental effect studies on historicizing TV formats, comparing social groups (age, sex, education) and national contexts;

3.           Media-Effect Analysis 2: representative panel survey on use and effect of historicizing TV formats and effect analysis of one eminent TV event.
